Buckinghamshire County Museum is a cultural heritage venue showing regional archaeological artefacts.
For their display cases, a series of ink drawings of animals, people and objects from history and prehistory were created at 1:1 scale. The illustrations bring history to life by reuniting the fossils and artefacts back with their original whole forms, giving useful context at full scale. These drawings include some of the biggest animals whose bones have been found in Buckinghamshire’s local area, including a Mammoth and a Pliosaur.
Each of the works on paper involved research into historical accuracy in collaboration with the museum experts. The drawings were scanned for reproduction, and have since been a feature in the museum’s permanent displays.
