It’s Freezing in LA! Special: To Stand on Shifting Ground Creative direction, Editorial design
It’s Freezing in LA!’s second special edition is a collection of poetry, writing, and imagery that explores Land connection, colonialism, and climate. To curate this collection, we worked closely with students on the the 'Culture, Criticism and Curation' course at CSM.
The poems are organised in terms of our Earth's natural tectonic plates, which is to contrast with colonial history land borders in cartography. Poems cover tales of belonging; disconnection; and reconnection, from the feet of the Himalayas to the Pacific Ring of Fire.
The design seeks to strike a balance between the design conventions of poetry pamphlets, and IFLA!’s independent voice in publishing.
This publication marked the fourth year of of collaboration with CSM students, with this publication being the first to be published in our regular print cycle.
