Observatory Station is a sound installation by artist Miyu Hosoi, as part of the exhibition Feel the Sound at the Barbican.
Visitors can listen in on a growing archive of sound recordings, collected from across the globe. Miyu has organised the recordings through shifting systems of time, place, and language, inviting reflection on the human frameworks invented to interpret the world. The 8-metre-wide map plots the locations of each recording.
